We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to join our team at Agrisolutions in Rock Island, IL. The Production Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the production team. They will be responsible for managing the production staff, ensuring that production goals are met, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.



Essential Functions:

  • Supervises daily production activities to ensure safe, clean, and efficient operations.
  • Monitors production schedules and coordinates resources to meet production targets.
  • Leads, trains, and motivates production workers to achieve high levels of performance.
  • Ensures compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Collaborates with other departments such as Quality Control, Engineering, and Maintenance to ensure seamless operations.
  • Monitors production output and quality control to ensure that products meet established specifications.
  • Prepares and submits production reports detailing progress, issues, and solutions.
  • Manages and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all production employees.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and discipling employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Inspects the physical condition of warehouse and production equipment using 5S organizational techniques. Prepares work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
  • Communicates with department heads to ensure coordination of production activities with activities of other functions (i.e. warehouse, sales, records control and purchasing).
  • Participates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.
  • Addresses safety concerns promptly by taking appropriate action.
  • Follows and assures others follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Leads employees by maintaining a positive attitude and setting a good example that others will follow.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate objectives and directions to others.
  • Treats everyone fairly and with respect.
  • Assures that the standardized work procedures that have been put in place are followed to maximize productivity and reduce errors.
  • Makes recommendations/suggestions to the plant manager on how production can be more effective for the company.
  • Collaborates with the production team to implement Lean methods, focusing on eliminating waste.
  • Enters data into the BPCS system.
  • Identifies training needs and provides ongoing support to staff development.
  • Attends training classes as required.
  • Checks other employees’ completed tasks for accuracy.
  • Other duties as required or assigned.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior supervisory experience in a warehouse/manufacturing environment is required.
  • Solid knowledge of Lean-OEE Principles is required.
  • A 4-year degree is strongly preferred.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in BPCS system is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of 5S organizational techniques is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of production processes, safety standards, and quality control.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with team members and management.
  • Ability to work in a flexible environment (i.e., adding and removing shifts).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts, manage diverse teams, and build strong work relationships.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.


Working Conditions:

  • Works in a factory environment, and can be exposed to dirt, grit, noise, and dust. Protective clothing and safety equipment are required while working in the facility. This environment is typically lit with fluorescent or LED lights.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.


Physical Demands:

  • Sits, stands, walks, and moves around the warehouse 8 or more hours per day on concrete floors.
  • Ability to sit or stand at a desk on the computer for 8 or more hours per day.
  • Lifts heavy objects by hand or with equipment. Must be able to safely lift 20-50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to organize storage, access supplies, etc.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills, such as using printers and copiers, using the telephone system, and typing on a computer for extended periods.
