What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift, Electro-Mechanical inspector position at Vendor Control Service, Inc.?
Job Summary
This position would be Monday through Thursday. Possible Friday and Saturday if required by schedule.
Active Secret Security Clearance is required prior to being on site.
Scope of Work:
- Perform detailed incoming inspections of sub-assemblies, electrical and mechanical in nature.
- Perform stop point inspections throughout the complete build of GEMT Missiles components to guarantee compliance to the TDP.
- Daily report outs to Lead SQM on issues and progress encountered during build process.
- Work in hazardous environments exposed to energized equipment, and unexploded ordnance.
- Assist in review TDP and MDP requirements to support the build process at the facility as the quality representative.
- Ensure completion of required documentation, identification of nonconformance and noncompliance.
- Participate in test preparation and execution to ensure requirements verification.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of mechanical parts and assemblies using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Utilize vision inspection systems to assess the quality of components and identify any defects or deviations from specifications.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures in accordance with HACCP and QA/QC standards.
- Document inspection results accurately and maintain records for compliance with quality management protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to address quality issues and facilitate corrective actions.
- Assist in the fabrication process by providing feedback on component design and manufacturability based on inspection findings.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality processes and reduce defects.
Experience
- Proven experience in mechanical inspection, preferably within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and standards, including Calypso software for measurement data analysis.
- Knowledge of HACCP principles as they relate to mechanical inspections is a plus.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
