Venerable is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Operations Information Consultant with a strong background in SQL, data infrastructure, and business intelligence. This role resides within our Strategic Operations function and will play a key part in developing and maintaining data solutions that enhance business efficiency, streamline operations, and drive informed decision-making.
The Sr. Information Consultant will be responsible for ETL development, data analysis, database maintenance, automation, and reporting. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams, optimize data processes, and ensure that data governance and security best practices are met.
Principle Responsibilities:
Develop and Maintain Data Infrastructure:
- Design and manage ETL processes for structured and unstructured data sources.
- Optimize database performance, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
- Monitor data quality and integrity, proactively addressing issues.
Business Intelligence & Reporting:
- Design and develop sophisticated dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Assist with business requirements, translating them into actionable insights.
- Support internal stakeholders by providing data-driven recommendations.
Automation & Process Optimization:
- Identify opportunities to automate labor-intensive operational processes.
- Develop and implement Power Automate workflows for improved efficiency.
- Collaborate with IT to integrate technology solutions into the organization’s architecture and follow best practices for development lifecycles.
Governance, Security & Compliance:
- Ensure that all databases, applications, and automated processes comply with Venerable’s security policies and industry best practices.
- Work closely with IT and compliance teams to maintain data governance standards.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 8 years of hands-on experience with SQL, including writing complex queries and optimizing performance. Proficiency in developing views, stored procedures, utilizing CTE’s, temp tables, and indexes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps desired.
- Experience designing ETL processes and managing automated jobs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Proven ability to coach and mentor others in a professional setting.
- Clear and concise communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly detail-oriented, with a commitment to data accuracy and governance.
- Experience collaborating across multiple teams, including IT, compliance, and business units.
- Knowledge of data security, governance, and compliance standards within the insurance industry.
- Ability to lead projects and take initiative in driving data strategy.
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis is a plus.
- Prior experience in the annuity or insurance industry is strongly preferred.
