Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Event Planner – Weddings is to focus on preparing and coordinating all event details, both during the planning experience and the day of the wedding while providing expert guidance, advice, and recommendations throughout the wedding process and managing the coordination on the wedding/event day.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Maximize wedding opportunities by responding to multiple sources to include phone contacts, walk-in traffic, email inquiries, assigned leads, etc., within 24 hours or one (1) business day.

· Responsible for selling/upselling, booking, contracting, and executing designated wedding events and following up to enhance post-event guest satisfaction.

· Establish and maintain a strong and positive rapport with guests from the first inquiry to the post-event follow-up to ensure wedding goals are met.

· Log all inquiries into Event Business Management System (EBMS) for tracking purposes.

· Generate all administrative tasks, paperwork, collateral, and contracts needed to complete each booking.

· Work with our internal and external partners to provide seamless events for our guests and ensure all partners have the proper orders and correspondence in a timely manner.

· Schedule site visits with guests to verify all needs and expectations have been met and/or exceeded when possible.

· Responsible for booking all guest appointments as necessary, seamlessly managing guest requests, and meeting with guests prior to their event.

· Manage essential tasks such as drafting contracts, invoicing for deposits and final payments, processing event orders, and ensuring streamlined communication with guests.

· Strive to meet and exceed departmental and individual financial performance goals.

· Promote a positive team environment and bring forward process improvement as well as departmental challenges when necessary.

· Maintain a complete knowledge of and effectively communicate all wedding offerings as well as property-wide products and services.

· Adhere to all current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in regard to transactions and departmental procedures.

· Responsible for all payment authorizations, including all details and collecting deposit and final payments.

· Must be able to attend and coordinate a rehearsal.

· Monitor group masters, cutoff dates, and group block/wedding cancellations, releasing any unused rooms at the determined time.

· Maintain composure under pressure, solve complaints and/or guest challenges and service issues, be proactive to prevent potential problems, and function as the wedding liaison between internal and external partners.

· Self-starter with the ability to multi-task while being responsible for consistently meeting deadlines, including day of deadlines, with internal and external partners, guests, and contacts.

· Strong attention to detail, highly organized and creative in order to provide décor, set-up, and planning advice.

· Safety is an essential function of this job.

· Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Company Standards of Conduct

All The Venetian Resort Team Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times. Team Members are required to observe the Company’s standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.

Minimum Qualifications

· 21 years of age.

· Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.

· High school diploma.

· Bachelor’s degree preferred.

· Must be able to obtain and maintain a Health Card, Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card, and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.

· 3 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, to include but not limited to, experience in Guest Services or working with events preferred.

· Experience in a 4- or 5-star resort/hotel preferred.

· Demonstrated experience in reading and understanding Event Orders.

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

· Working knowledge of Event Business Management System (EBMS) preferred.

· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.

· Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to:

· Lift or carry 20 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.

· Physically access all areas of the property and drive areas with or without a reasonable accommodation.

· Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.

· Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other team members, and outside contacts.

· Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend, and kneel.

· Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.

· Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
