Position Summary
The Garnishment Specialist is responsible for various administrative functions, client satisfaction, productivity, efficiencies and will handle a high volume of data entry and garnishment orders. The specialist verifies that legal obligations for garnishments are met to ensure compliance with agency requirements, federal and state laws, and policies/procedures.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Responds efficiently and effectively to all correspondence from customers, employees, or 3rd Party vendors through all methods of communications (i.e., email, fax, all applicable software, phone) and any additional methods incorporated through process improvement.
- Timely processing and data entry of basic garnishment orders including responses/notification to appropriate parties (employees and agencies).
- Assist as needed to ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of garnishment accounts.
- Managing and updating client/employee records.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Basic understanding and knowledge of garnishment calculations.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to meet daily and weekly department deadlines.
- Good communication skills, oral and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
- Self-starter able to make sound business judgment in carrying out assigned tasks.
- Strong organizational skills.
- High School Diploma from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of experience, skills, education (including other relevant non-traditional degree programs, certifications, or job training programs) preferred.
- Experience with payroll, garnishments and/or PEO multi state employers preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and demonstrated ability to learn other applications as needed.
