Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, team player and detail-oriented Medical Biller and Collector to join our team in Miami, Florida. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience in medical billing and collections, with a strong background in Coding, Pre-Authorization, Workers Comp Claims, and Insurance Certification.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit claims to insurance companies.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and handle denials or rejections.
- Manage pre-authorization processes to ensure timely approval of services.
- Ensure timely collection of outstanding balances from patients and insurance companies.
- Maintain detailed records of billing activities and collections.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Stay updated with the latest healthcare billing regulations and practices.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
Education & Experience
- Certification in Coding and Billing is required.
- Insurance Certification and Workers Comp Claims experience and knowledge with pre-authorization processes are strongly preferred.
- 7 years of experience in medical billing and collections.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding (ICD-10, CPT).
- Experience of 5 years with ICD - 10 required
- Proficiency in billing software and electronic health records (EHR).
