Position Summary
Prepare Annual Business Personal Property Tax filings for clients in various industries. Ensure client is in compliance and receives necessary assistance for property tax filings, assessments, and bills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Process daily payments for federal and state agencies. Perform daily reconciliations and correct processing errors
- File and pay quarterly/annual returns.
- Prepares or reviews a variety of tax related documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable guidelines and regulations.
- Performs tax reconciliations and determines liability for accounts, divisions or business units
- Perform data analysis to ensure compliance with payroll tax laws and regulations
- Research, interpret, and understand existing or revised tax codes, laws, or forms.
- Establish or maintain procedures to reduce payroll tax discrepancies
- Verify accuracy and timeliness of tax processes to ensure compliance with organizational polices and procedures
- Resolve escalated issues with clients or internal departments
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- A thorough knowledge and understanding of business personal property tax including state, and local tax regulations including idle and exempt assets
- Request and review annual asset and location data, including changes from prior years
- The ability to manage multiple tasks, meet seasonal deadlines and adapt to fast-paced environment
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively and possess strong client service skills
Education & Experience
- Minimum of five years multi-state, multi-jurisdiction and high-volume Property Tax experience
- Various industry experience preferred.
- Hands-on data collection and property tax return processing experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of state and local property tax laws required.
- PTMS (Property Tax Management Software) experience preferred.
