SUMMARY
The Landscape Supervisor is responsible for the care and maintenance of the turf area, ornamental trees, shrubs, and flowers around the facility buildings, resort grounds, and other related areas (par course & practice facility maintenance). Supervise and training of staff, scheduling, irrigation management and installation. Application of fertilizers and pesticides. Accurate record keeping.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assists the manager in interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Assists in developing ongoing training programs.
- Assists in the management of department members that may include, but is not limited to: Landscapers
- Conducts staff meetings with subordinates.
- Assists in the development and implementation of the landscape plan for the facility.
- Ensures that costs associated with landscaping are kept within the parameters of the established landscape budget.
- Assists in monitoring business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs, and other expenses.
- Develops detailed annual plans for the seasonal rotation of plants, flowers, etc., in the facilitys various landscaped areas and flowerbeds resulting in fresh. eye-catching and pleasant flower and plant displays.
- Supervises and oversees the care and maintenance of the turf, ornamental plants, ornamental flowers, shrubs, and trees and maintains all by appropriate pruning, trimming, fertilizing, watering, and pest control.
- Direct and assist the staff on the planting of new vegetation, the replacement and spraying of trees and shrubs, and tending to high stress areas especially during the summer months.
- Supervises and assists landscapers in daily assignments and tasks.
- Oversees maintenance and preparation of soil plant beds, all flowerbeds; established by seed or transplants, and maintains annual perennial flowers in aesthetically pleasing arrangements.
- Prepare soil and plant beds. Establishes seed or transplanted materials.
- Oversee the operation of mechanical and power equipment utilized in the maintenance of ornamental plants and trees. Operates all golf course equipment utilized for the maintenance of landscape plant, tree, and turf areas.
- Follows all procedures and handling of fertilizers, soil amendments and chemicals.
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Stays attuned with current fertilizer and pesticide applications. Participates in the application of fertilizers and pesticides.
- Assists in minor construction projects.
- Communicates any changes or new policies and procedures to the department.
- Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager.

Education/Experience:
- Associates degree (AA); or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Pesticide Application License.
- Must be 18 years old
- High School or equivalent education required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to physically reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and lift up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to work under variable temperature conditions (extreme heat or cold, indoors/outdoors).
- Must be able to work around chemicals, dust, fumes and/or odor hazards.
- Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions and may face the risk of electrical shock or encounter fumes or airborne pathogens. Must be able to work in a loud environment and in areas near moving mechanical parts.

- There will be a $500.00 bonus. The first half ($250.00) will be paid upon completion of 90 days of employment and the other half ($250.00) will be paid after 180 days of employment. All bonuses are contingent upon a positive performance review.
