Summary:

The Overnight Housekeeping Attendant role will set the stage for the guest experience through attention to detail, proficiency, and can-do attitude.  This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining assigned public areas, hallways, locker rooms, fitness center and restroom facilities according to highest quality of standards and cleanliness. This is an overnight shift 9PM – 4AM. The model applicant will have a strong work ethic and be a team player. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

• To perform a combination of tasks that maintain hotel premises in a clean and orderly manner, thereby contributing to a pleasant, positive guest/member experience.
• Cleaning assigned public areas as required by emptying trash, dusting furniture, washing windows, vacuuming, mopping floors, and cleaning bathrooms.
• Operate carpet cleaning and floor cleaning equipment.
• Clean bathroom and replenish bathroom supplies in guest rooms and in all public areas.
• Dust furniture and equipment. Polish metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings. Replace light bulbs as needed.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills
• Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using a vacuum cleaner.
• Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts.
• Operate laundry machines, process linen, and stock linen closets.
• Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Maintain all equipment used in working order.
• May be requested to perform other housekeeping duties as needed.
• Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the department manager.
• Observe precautions required to protect hotel and guest property and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors.
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management; complete safety training and certifications.
• All other duties as needed and or assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Experience:

• Prior housekeeping experience preferred.
• Required to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers; to print and speak simple sentences in English.

Skills/Abilities:

• Possess verbal, written, and listening skills.
• Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- and two-step instructions; to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Self-directed, energetic, and efficient.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Able to pass a background check.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to stand and walk on their feet for 95% of the shift.
• Able to reach, bend, twist, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks as required.
• Able to climb stairs while handling luggage.
• Able to push a bell cart loaded with luggage up to 150 pounds  .   
• Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
