The Lodge at Ventana Canyon Golf & Racquet Club is seeking an experienced Server to provide uncompromising quality of service to the Ventana Canyon Golf & Racquet Club members and guests through a coordinated teamwork approach.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides immediate attention to all guests upon seating.
• Describes and specials of the day to the guest. Answers questions regarding any menu item and offers suggestions of menu items when appropriate.
• Takes food and beverage orders from guests and delivers food to guest promptly after preparation.
• Follows-up with guest to ensure satisfaction. Replenishes items as needed.
• Participates in pre-shift meetings and taste tests.
• Maintain organized workstation and side work duties.
• Accountable for checks and cash transactions. Utilizes Point of Sale System.
• Follows established systems for taking, placing, and delivering orders.
• Follows established standards for greeting, cocktail service, and food delivery and general service techniques.
• Practices tray service for all food and beverage service.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the department manager.
• Attends staff meetings.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to apply basic math skills.
• Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Vision distance and color vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.

REQUIREMENTS:

• One to three months related experience and/or training working in a similar environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Required to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; to write simple correspondence; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
• Meet the physical demands of the position: Frequently stands and walks; uses hands to finger, handle or feel; reaches with hands and arms; stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls; talks or hears. Occasionally sits; climbs or balances. Frequently lifts to 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
