Available Schedule: Full-Time, Monday- Friday, hours will be discussed during interview

BROAD SCOPE OF POSITION: Create and implement a complete program of activities suitable to the abilities of the residents of Ventana Winds Assisted Living and Memory Care. This should include physical, social, cultural, spiritual, recreational, psychological, and philosophical sensorial and therapeutic activities. Responsible for creating and printing monthly calendar.
· ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Plans, coordinates, schedule, and implements a complete activity program to satisfy all residents’ abilities and preferences as described above.
· Publishes monthly calendar and newsletter.
· Coordinates activities with chauffeur that includes excursions away from the facility.
· Maintains an adequate supply of games, puzzles, books, magazines, periodicals, tapes, and movies.
· Decorates and celebrates all holidays honored by any of the residents including resident birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
· Keeps abreast of all state rules and regulations regarding activities or therapies for seniors.
· Joins any organization that will enhance the position or be of benefit to the residents or the occupancy of Ventana Winds.
· Accompanies residents on all excursions outside the facility and assumes responsibility for their attendance.
· Supervises Activity Aides in carrying out activity program for Assisted Living Building.
NON ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Assist marketing department and Executive Director with tours of the building as needed.
· Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Current state accreditation for activities director if necessary.
· Two years of college preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Two or more years working with the elderly in a social, recreational, or creative environment.
· Experience working in geriatric or long term care helpful.
· Memory care experience is preferred.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE OR SKILLS OR REQUIREMENTS:
· Sensitivity to needs and limitations of seniors.
· Creative and imaginative personality helpful.
· Strong interpersonal skills required.
· Must be able to read and write the English language.
· Must be able to work flexible hours.
· Valid and current AZ driver license.
· Computer literate.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
