We are seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor to oversee and manage payroll operations within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with labor laws, and efficient payroll system management. This role requires strong attention to detail, leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Position is a Direct Hire role. Hybrid work schedule.
Salary range is 100k-130k annually. May go higher based on qualifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Process and review payroll for hourly and salaried employees, including overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, and deductions.
- Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure proper employee classification, benefits deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies or employee inquiries in a timely manner.
- Prepare payroll reports for management, auditors, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with union agreements, where applicable, and track payroll-related contractual obligations.
- Assist in payroll system upgrades, testing, and implementation of new processes to improve efficiency.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Train and mentor payroll staff to enhance departmental performance and efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Payroll Certifications are a plus!
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll processing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/manager role.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in manufacturing or a related industry is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., SAGE, ADP, Kronos, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of Regulations: Familiarity with FLSA, payroll tax laws, and union agreements (if applicable).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
