Position Type: Full time. Direct Hire. Fully In Office.
PAY: Negotiable - Director Level Expectations discretionary bonus potential.
Duties:
- Oversee the preparation and processing of payroll for all employees, ensuring compliance with all company policies, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure accurate and timely payment of wages and bonuses.
- Supervise payroll team to ensure proper and consistent payroll procedures are followed.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in payroll laws, tax regulations, and benefits policies.
- Ensure all payroll-related taxes are calculated and paid correctly (federal, state, and local).
- Monitor and ensure adherence to labor laws, union agreements, and collective bargaining agreements.
- Generate payroll reports and ensure proper documentation is maintained for audits, tax filings, and other compliance purposes.
- Prepare financial reports and provide summaries for management, highlighting any payroll issues or trends.
- Assist with year-end payroll filings, including W-2, 1099, and other required tax documents.
- Manage payroll software and tools, ensuring they are updated and integrated with other HR and finance systems.
- Implement process improvements related to payroll systems and technology.
- Lead, mentor, and train payroll team members.
- Provide guidance on complex payroll issues, including benefit deductions, garnishments, and tax-related inquiries.
- Ensure the team maintains high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and customer service.
- Monitor and control payroll costs to ensure they align with company budgets.
- Work with other departments (e.g., HR, finance) to forecast future payroll costs based on hiring trends and planned compensation adjustments.
- Contribute to strategic planning for payroll processing, employee compensation, and benefits.
- Support organizational growth by aligning payroll processes with broader business goals.
Qualifications of the Payroll Manager
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance is Preferred.
- Payroll Certifications are a Plus.
- 10 years of experience in multi-state payroll.
- 10 years managing a payroll team.
- Knowledge of payroll-relevant technologies.
Salary : $140,000 - $200,000
