Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to fill an opening with a well-reputable and established employer of choice based in Troy, Michigan.
Requirements of the Senior Accountant
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2 years of general accounting or finance experience
- Construction or Insurance industry experience is preferred
- CPA license is preferred
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Knowledge of Accounting theory and practice (GAAP)

Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant
- Prepares monthly journal entries
- Assists with the preparation of monthly financial reports and ad hoc reporting
- Verifies accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications within the financial statements
- Coordinates accounting matters with other departments (sales, construction) within the Division
- Partners with other members on finance team to complete month-end/year-end closing
- Perform monthly variance analysis
- Maintain fixed asset subledger
- Assist with various tax preparations and filings including, sales tax, income tax, 1099 reporting and personal property tax
