Sr. Mechanical Engineer
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from a 4 year accredited university
- At least 7 years of experience as a Mechanical, Design, or Applications Engineer
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for creating 3D models and generating detailed 2D drawings
- Strong practical knowledge of mechanical systems and a collaborative team player
- Excellent problem-solving, communication (both written and verbal) skills
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Mechanical Engineering Manager and Engineering Lead to ensure timely and high-quality delivery of engineering and design outputs
- Use SolidWorks to complete precise 3D models and 2D drawings
- Review personal design work for accuracy and completeness, including occasional peer reviews
- Leverage PDM software to manage design changes and data transfers within the system
- Work closely with engineers and technicians to provide expertise and guidance
- Offer clear instructions to technicians for the fabrication, installation, and repair of machine components
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, design for manufacturing, and efficiency optimization
- Participate in and support design reviews both on-site and at customer locations
- Conduct and document calculations to support design and new product development
- Collaborate with Purchasing to define part specifications and identify cost-effective alternatives
- Assist in resolving issues during machine builds and performance trials
- Create and maintain drawings, schematics, and diagrams according to Uniloy and/or industry standards
- Develop, review, release, and maintain BOMs for new equipment and service orders
- Provide technical input to optimize systems for safety, durability, reliability, and cost
- Lead and support design reviews using SolidWorks, Creo/ProE
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the reporting Manager
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with PDM systems such as TeamCenter, 3DX, Windchill, etc.
- Familiarity with FEA simulation tools for optimizing component design and electro-mechanical systems
- Experience in performing kinematic studies and motion simulation
- Ability to conduct tolerance stack-ups and analyze results
- Understanding of program management, time management, planning, and scheduling
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO-9001, TS-16949, etc.)
- Experience with GD&T, component inspection methods, and general manufacturing practices
Salary : $90,000 - $115,000
