Location: 531 West Poplar Avenue| Tipton | CA | 93272
Hourly Rate: $19.88| $22.74after 90 day probation (Overtime and weekends may be required)
Shift: 1st Shift 6am - 2:30pm
Job Summary
The Packaging Operator/Fruit Sorter works under the direction of the shift supervisor. The operators on shift are responsible for pulp collection, and CIP according to blending instructions provided by the Tank Farm Manager. When not assigned to packaging the operator may be assigned to general labor.
Primary Responsibilities
- Food Safety is the responsibility of all Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees. All Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees must be aware of CCPs in their area and how to document them appropriately. All staff must report food safety and quality problems to their immediate supervisor in charge during their shift.
- Fill drums, bins and pails of concentrates, NFC, and pulp.
- Load refrigerated Vans for storage and shipment.
- Maintain Refrigerated van fuel level by adding diesel.
- Properly label drums, bins and pails.
- Maintain packaged drums, bins and pails free of foreign materials.
- Assist ATF, Juice Room Operators with sterilizer, pasteurizer and export line product pushouts, into drums, or bins.
- Operate pasteurizer and CIP system.
- Clean and sanitize tanks and equipment as required.
- Assist in a variety of manual labor tasks as needed.
- Properly fill out required regulatory documentation per HACCP, Customer Requirements, etc.
- Follow all safety rules and practices to include the wearing of all essential personal protective equipment.
- Follow all personal hygiene and food safety practices.
- Act professionally towards customers, vendors and other visitors to the plant.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Basic computer skills such as the ability to operate a computer touch screen.
- Must have a forklift license or the ability to obtain one.
- High school graduate or equivalent desirable.
Physical Requirements
- The ability to meet flexible and changing priorities and the ability to work under pressure is a must.
- 100 % standing, climbing ladders and stairs in a normal plant environment for the entire shift.
- The ability to lift 50 lbs. on occasion is a must.
