Hourly Rate: $27.00 (Overtime and weekends may be required)
We are hiring for a Flex Shift position which will cover all three shifts where needed.
Shift: 1st Shift 6am - 2:30pm
Shift: 2nd Shift 2pm - 10:30pm | Shift Differential $0.40 hour
Shift: 3rd Shift 10pm - 6:30am | Shift Differential $0.80 hour
Job Summary
The CIP Systems Operator is to ensure the plant’s internal production equipment, process piping, tanks and silos are clean, sanitary and inspection ready at all times. The CIP Operator is in charge of maintaining chemicals throughout the facility and performing other tasks to ensure the sanitation of the facility and equipment as assigned. The CIP Systems Operator reports directly to the Sanitation Supervisor.
Primary Responsibilities
- Food Safety is the responsibility of all Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees. All Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees must be aware of CCPs in their area and how to document them appropriately. All staff must report food safety and quality problems to their immediate supervisor in charge during their shift.
- Cleaning Procedures: Follow predefined cleaning and sanitation procedures for equipment such as tanks, pipes, and vessels to ensure they are free from contaminants. Prepare and mix cleaning chemicals according to safety guidelines. Perform chemical titrations to ensure proper concentration of cleaning and sanitizing solutions including but not limited to dip tanks, bulk tanks and cooling towers. Assist in cleaning and sanitizing throughout the facility. Follow and complete specific duties outlined in Master Sanitation Schedule. Wash down and foam floors, walls, ceilings, tank alcoves, flow panels and processing equipment.
- Inspection & Monitoring: Inspect CIP skids, including chemical concentrations, water temperature, to ensure the effectiveness of the cleaning process.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain all pertinent records, reports and other paperwork as needed, including daily chemical concentration form, Master sanitation Schedule, daily CIP circuit sheet, CIP problems report and other cleaning verification logs.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all CIP operations comply with health, safety, and environmental standards. Report safety concerns and incidents immediately to management. Ensure proper handling and disposal of waste and cleaning chemicals. Follow all safety policies including wearing PPE associated with chemical handling.
- Notify maintenance personnel for major repairs or issues.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and track all chemical inventory and supply to ensure there are sufficient stocks for ongoing operations.
- Quality Control Support: Assist in maintaining product quality by ensuring proper sanitation of equipment that comes into contact with food products.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in training, process improvements, and ongoing learning related to sanitation practices and CIP systems. Assist in the training of new sanitation employees.
- Performed other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (additional certification in sanitation or food safety is a plus).
- Experience: Previous experience in operating CIP systems or in a sanitation role in a manufacturing, food processing, or pharmaceutical environment is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of CIP system operation, chemical handling, and basic troubleshooting.
- Physical Requirements: to handle hazardous cleaning chemicals safely.
- Certifications: Certification in food safety, sanitation, or related areas is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50lbs on a consistent basis.
- Standing on plant work surface up to 80% of the time in a juice plant environment.
- Sitting on and operating a forklift or aerial lift 20% of the time in a juice plant environment.
