Hourly Rate: $26.89 (Overtime and weekends may be required)
We are hiring for a Flex Shift position which will cover all three shifts where needed.
Shift: 1st Shift 6am - 2:30pm
Shift: 2nd Shift 2pm - 10:30pm | Shift Differential $0.40 hour
Shift: 3rd Shift 10pm - 6:30am | Shift Differential $0.80 hour
Job Summary
The Extraction Relief Operator works under the direction of the Extractor Operator, Group Lead and Shift Supervisor. The position will provide floor support to ensure that the JBT extractors are running properly to maximize fruit throughput, recovery of juice and biproducts. In addition, this position will assist with fruit grading during loads requiring heavy culling. Provide support for break and lunch relief to the extractor operator and fruit graders as required. In the absence of this position, the Extractor Operator will perform these job duties.
Primary Responsibilities
- Food Safety is the responsibility of all Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees. All Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees must be aware of CCPs in their area and how to document them appropriately. All staff must report food safety and quality problems to their immediate supervisor in charge during their shift.
- Monitor JBT conveyor line to ensure that extractors are running properly.
- Responsible to a specific CCP in the HACCP plan regarding.
- CCP #1 – Pasteurization of NFC & Pulp
- Assist with Fruit Grading during loads requiring heavy culling.
- Assist in the dismantling and cleanup of extractors and cleanup of the grading table.
- Responsible for essence collection, packaging, and recording.
- Provide break and lunch relief to the extractor operator and fruit graders as required.
- Follow all safety rules and practices to include the wearing of all personal protective equipment.
- Follow all personal hygiene and food safety/quality practices.
- Act professionally towards customers, visitors and vendors.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance, consistent punctuality, and a positive attitude.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the shift supervisor or group leader.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Must have a forklift license or the ability to obtain one.
- Basic computer skills such as the ability to operate a computer touch screen.
- Previous extraction, evaporation, oil and equipment operator experience preferred.
- One year of experience in a plant manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work any shift including weekend shifts.
- 90% standing or climbing stairs in a normal manufacturing environment.
