Location: 531 West Poplar Avenue| Tipton | CA | 93272
Hourly Rate: $22.96 ($24.25 after 90 days) TEMPORARY
Shift: 2nd Shift 2pm - 10:30 pm
Job Summary
The Finished Oil Operator position’s focus is the quality and quantity of clarified citrus oils. The position’s requirements include basic math: multiplication, division, ratio, fractions and percentages.
Primary Responsibilities
- Food Safety is the responsibility of all Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees. All Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees must be aware of CCPs in their area and how to document them appropriately. All staff must report food safety and quality problems to their immediate supervisor in charge during their shift.
- Responsible for the operation of clarified oil processing systems for lemon, orange, tangerine and grapefruit oils.
- Great attention to detail when building a cake on the vacuum filter.
- Carefully inspect the new drum interior with a flashlight before filling.
- Set aside and report defective drums.
- Responsible for packing oil in new drums to accurate weight.
- Carefully transfer oil from one tank to another without losing any of the oil to the drain.
- Accurately document all clarified oil production into Citros/Sage system.
- Always maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
- Dispose of hazardous waste properly.
- Promote quality and alert supervisor of any non-standard conditions.
- Follow safety rules and wear proper PPE where required.

- Responsible for the optimum operation of the STILL when processing diatomesous earth, DE.
- Responsible for optimum operation of the STILL when making Folded oil.
- Responsible for the CIP of the STILL.
- Follow all personal hygiene and all GMP practices.
- Act professionally towards coworkers, customers, visitors and vendors.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance, consistent punctuality and a positive attitude always.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager and/or supervisor.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School diploma or GED is required.
- Must be able to perform simple math calculations: division, fractions, ratios, percentages.
- Possess or be able to obtain a valid forklift license.
Physical Requirements
- 80% of the employee’s time will be standing or walking.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Occasional exposure to caustic chemicals, such as diatomeasous earth, DE, loud noise and wet/humid conditions.
- Occasional use of a step ladder is required.
- Safe, Forklift Operation is a must.
- Occasional use of respirator is required.
