Hourly Rate: $26.49 Overtime and weekends may be required)
We are hiring for a Flex Shift position which will cover all three shifts where needed.
Shift: 1st Shift 6am - 2:30pm
Shift: 2nd Shift 2pm - 10:30pm | Shift Differential $0.40 hour
Shift: 3rd Shift 10pm - 6:30am | Shift Differential $0.80 hour
Job Summary
The Pasteurizer Operator works under the direction of the shift supervisor and group leader. The operator is responsible for operating Juice Pasteurizer which provide instantaneous thermal process of the constituent elements of the citrus fruit (oranges, lemons, grapefruit, and exotic fruits). The objective is to obtain a micro free juices per customer specification. The operator may be assigned to any shift and may cross train with other plant operator positions if the Pasteurizer is not in operation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Food Safety is the responsibility of all Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees. All Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees must be aware of CCPs in their area and how to document them appropriately. All staff must report food safety and quality problems to their immediate supervisor in charge during their shift.
- Communicate with the Extraction Op or Lead to ensure all paths are connected correctly to prevent any losses.
- Monitors product flow and ensure time and temperature of the Pasteurizer.
- Monitor Oil Spec to achieve specific production objectives.
- Responsible to a specific CCP in the HACCP plan in regards to
- CCP #1 – Pasteurization of NFC
- Perform CIPs of the Pasteurizer before or after each run
- Monitors temps and flows throughput to ensure the completed process is operating as efficiently as possible.
- Assists in dismantling of the equipment and cleaning if assisting operations or maintenance.
- Follows all safety rules and practices to include the wearing of all essential personal protective equipment.
- Follows all personal hygiene and food safety/quality practices.
- Act professionally towards customers, vendors or other visitors.
- Demonstrates reliable attendance, consistent punctuality and a positive attitude.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor or group leader.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must have a forklift license or the ability to obtain one.
- Basic computer skills such as the ability to operate a computer touch screen.
Physical Requirements
- The ability to meet flexible and changing priorities and the ability to work under pressure a must.
- 80% standing, climbing ladders and stairs in a normal manufacturing environment.
- 20% in a computer control room on the extractor platform.
