Location: 531 West Poplar Avenue| Tipton | CA | 93272
Hourly Rate: $18.56| $20.62 after 90 day probation (Overtime and weekends may be required)
Shift: 2nd Shift 2pm - 10:30pm | Shift Differential $0.40 hour
Job Summary
Provide clean up in the manufacturing area as directed by supervisor to ensure a contaminate free juice and by-products processing facility. These tasks will change daily and may consist of cleaning in the production area, weed control, and yard clean-up, or other manual labor duties as needed. In the absence of this position, the Production Laborer will perform these job duties.
Primary Responsibilities
- Food Safety is the responsibility of all Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees. All Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees must be aware of CCPs in their area and how to document them appropriately. All staff must report food safety and quality problems to their immediate supervisor in charge during their shift.
- Follow and complete specific duties outlined in Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Prepare cleaning chemical, foaming agents, detergents, acids, and alkali solutions.
- Cleaning of control panels, maintain cleaning supplies in chemical cage, and replenish sanitizing dip tanks.
- Teardown and reassemble equipment for cleaning.
- Communicate with supervisor of issues and concerns.
- Pro-active attitude towards cleaning and sanitizing.
- Follow all safety rules and practices to include the wearing of all essential personal protective equipment.
- Wash down and foam floors, walls, ceilings, tank alcoves, flow panels, processing equipment.
- Operate and maintain foamer equipment. Calculate chemical doses and make necessary adjustments.
- Sanitize equipment and surfaces throughout the facility
- Performing dry cleaning of all MCC rooms and storage areas
- Ability to perform accurate calculations of basic chemical titration
- End cap all lines, flow panels, tanks, and equipment when not in use
- Follow all personal hygiene and food safety practices.
- Act professionally towards customers, vendors and other visitors to the plant.
- Report food safety and quality issues immediate supervisor or supervisor on duty.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Must have a fork lift license or the ability to obtain one.
- Must be able to use an aerial lift in a safe manner
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Knowledge of food processing sanitation techniques and procedures
- Previous experience in a plant manufacturing environment desirable.
Physical Requirements
- The ability to meet flexible and changing priorities and the ability to work under pressure is a must.
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- 80% of the time standing on the plant floor in a normal juice plant environment
- 20% of the time will be sitting while operating a forklift
- No fear of heights as use of the aerial lift will require the operator to be hoisted up to 20ft
