We are currently recruiting for a seasoned Oil Operations Supervisor for our Tipton plant. This position needs to be able to cover all three shifts as needed.
Job Summary
The Oil Operations Supervisor is responsible for the efficient, safe and quality-oriented processing of citrus oils. The Oil Operations Supervisor must ensure that employees have the proper training and that they adhere to quality, safety and food safety practices as well as standard operating procedures (SOPs). This position reports to the Oil Operations Manager.
Primary Responsibilities

Food Safety is the responsibility of all Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees. All Ventura Coastal manufacturing employees must be aware of CCPs in their area and how to document them appropriately. All staff must report food safety and quality problems to their immediate supervisor in charge during their shift.

Work with planning on oil scheduling for COP (Finished Oil), DE Still (DE or Folder Oil) and Oil/ Aroma Blends.

Meet with the oil coordinator throughout the day (Mainly on finished oil production).

Oversee oil extraction: Check extractors, oil finishers, frit auger, frit pump and oil finishers’ pumps.

Check oil separators’ and oil polishers’ efficiencies.

Transfer oil to warehouse from oil mill (verifying drums are labeled correctly).

Complete weekly oil yields (usually on Mondays of each week).

Resolve any problems within the department.

Support the oil team for success.

Perform other duties as assigned and required.
Qualifications and Education Requirements

1- 3 years of demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a food processing facility.

Bachelor of Science in Food Science, Agriculture, Engineering (or a related discipline) or equivalent successful work experience.

Capable of administering the Collective Bargaining Agreement with respect to overtime scheduling and daily work assignments.

Agriculture, Food Science and or Food Processing experience.

Beverage manufacturing experience is a definite advantage.

Experience with oil separators, oil polishers’ pumps and oil finishers.

Working knowledge of beverage manufacturing activities including production planning processes.

Excellent working knowledge in Microsoft Office Products: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and large-scale ERP applications a must.

Ability to organize one’s thoughts - written and oral communications a must.

Working knowledge of manufacturing activities including production planning processes.

Must be able to handle various tasks simultaneously, organize, prioritize, make decisions and work efficiently and effectively under deadlines.

Must routinely exercise independent judgment and be able to work and think strategically to be able to provide feedback to all levels of the organization.

Ability to work successfully in a team environment is a must.
Physical Requirements
-
Will be in an office environment and traveling environment requiring the ability to sit, stand, walk, talk and listen for extended periods of time. Meeting flexible and changing priorities and the ability to work under pressure is a must. Could be required to be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the fruit season. Travel to other facilities up to 20% of the time.
Compensation
Range: $70,000 - $74,000 annually (bonus potential for achieving performance goals.)
Salary offers will vary and will be determined by the candidate’s work experience, education, skills, and certifications.
