WHAT YOU'LL DO
Under the general supervision of an assigned supervisor, perform a variety of office support, clerical, and routine secretarial duties of a general or specialized nature.
There are currently two bilingual full time (12 months/year 40 hours/week) positions located at Oxnard College.This recruitment is being conducted to establish a list of eligible candidates that will be used to fill district-wide, current and upcoming, temporary and regular vacancies for the duration of the list, not to exceed one year.

New Employees: Generally, new employees are placed on the first step of the appropriate range of the salary schedule.
Current Employees: An employee who is promoted will be placed on the salary step of the new range of the appropriate salary schedule that provides a minimum increase comparable to a one-step increase in salary.

A 2.9% bilingual differential stipend is allocated to the employee in accordance with the position's bilingual designation and the employee's corresponding step placement.Serve as receptionist for assigned area; receive office and telephone callers; provide general and technical information in accordance with established guidelines. Verify and review materials such as applications, records, files, and reports for completeness and conformance with established regulations and procedures; apply applicable policies and procedures in determining completeness of applications, records, files, and reports; collect and process appropriate information. E
Prepare, review, edit, and proofread a variety of documents and forms including general correspondence, agendas, requisitions, purchase orders, reports, minutes, and memoranda from rough draft, recordings, or verbal instruction; disseminate information as appropriate. E
Maintain accurate and up-to-date files and records for assigned areas; develop and monitor various logs, accounts, and files for current and accurate information; maintain and generate reports from a database or network system; verify accuracy of information and research discrepancies. E
Perform a variety of routine clerical accounting duties and responsibilities pertaining to financial record keeping and reporting; compile information and data for statistical and financial reports; check and tabulate data; maintain a variety of accounting records, logs, and files. E
Produce newsletters, brochures, technical handouts, and other specialized documents using desktop publishing software and other computer applications. E
Receive, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing correspondence. E
Maintain office supplies and inventories; order, receive, and maintain office supplies and equipment; prepare requisitions, purchase orders, and work order forms. E
Maintain calendar of activities, meetings, and various events; schedule appointments; reserve facilities for specific uses. E
Assist in the preparation and distribution of meeting agendas and associated material; take and prepare minutes. E
Make reservations and travel arrangements; process a variety of travel and expense forms. E
Assist in training and providing work direction to student workers. E
Work collaboratively and professionally with faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, and ethnic communities. E

E = Essential dutiesAny combination equivalent to:
Education: Graduation from high school or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency.
Experience: One year of responsible clerical experience involving public contact and the use of a computer and office applications OR two years of customer service experience that required the use of computer applications to enter and retrieve information.
EXAMINATION AND SELECTION PROCESS:

Date Range: Tuesday, March 4, 2025 to Monday, March 10, 2025
Location: All candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be emailed a link to the test on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 and will have until 11:59 pm on Monday, March 10, 2025 to complete the test. To participate in the written/performance test, you must have access to a computer and a reliable connection to the internet.
The top candidates with the highest passing scores on the written/performance test will be invited to the technical interview.
TECHNICAL INTERVIEW DATE RANGE AND LOCATION:
Date Range: Monday, March 17, 2025 to Friday, March 21, 2025
Location: The Technical Interview will be conducted remotely, using Zoom. To participate, you must have access to a computer with a camera, microphone, speakers, and a reliable connection to the internet.
The examination components and dates are subject to change as needs dictate. All communication regarding this process will be delivered via email.

ELIGIBILITY LIST: Upon completion of the examination, the eligibility list will be compiled by combining the final examination score with applicable seniority and veteran's credits, if any. The candidates will be ranked according to their total score on the eligibility list. Certification will be made from the highest three ranks of the eligibility list. This eligibility list will be used to fill current vacancies for up to one year from the date of the technical interview.
