About The Role
The Commercial Lending & Business Services Administrator provides support for commercial loan closing and servicing functions related to the product life cycle of Commercial and Business Banking loan products. Responsible for supporting the commercial lending team and managing strong commercial relationships and meeting the established lending requirements. As an advocate of our Shared Values of COMMUNITY & STEWARSHIP, this position may represent the Credit Union through active participation in community affairs and marketing of the credit union’s business lending services.
This position is on-premise and based our Thousand Oaks location. Employees at VCCU uphold our Shared Values and work onsite for the best benefit of our membership and community partners.
What You’ll Do
- Initiates and prepares loan documentation request packages including completion of Loan Documentation Checklist and verification of approval authority for submit to the Loan Center. Coordinates with various Lending departments, as applicable, to ensure loan documentation request package is complete. Follows up with the lending support partner (CUSO) to resolve documentation discrepancies or to obtain missing documents.
- Audits all loan documents (after execution by borrower) to verify that the documents have been returned, signed, dated, and initiated properly. Ensures that any missing or altered documents are listed on the waiver report, and that proper approval for boarding with deficiencies has been obtained. Follows up on missing documents. Obtains necessary waivers before boarding a loan with exceptions.
- Prepares reports and portfolio analysis of credit situations and provide information to the VP of Commercial Lending & Business Services for loans that need restructuring.
- Identify, monitor, and report the risk profile of assigned lending portfolios. Supporting the Chief Lending Officer in the presentation to the Loan Committee, including status updates on the full life cycle of loans, loan requests, new loan terms, modifications for restructuring, watch list items and past dues.
- Work as a liaison for the branch network management team and staff to promote business services products as well as handle incoming phone calls from credit union staff, loan brokers, borrowers or other loan referral sources to ascertain viable loan proposals.
- Acts as primary point of contact for any vendors responsible for loan underwriting and SBA loan servicing.
What We’re Seeking
- 3 years’ of successful and recent experience in SBA and/or commercial loan servicing and processing.
- Requires knowledge of current lending origination, processing and underwriting practices. Must have in-depth understanding of the loan origination process.
- Professional skill level in all Microsoft Office 365 products, including SharePoint, Excel, Power Point, Word, and Teams.
- An Associate’s Degree (AA) or equivalent from a two year college or technical school is required. Bachelor's degree preferred in finance, accounting, or related field.
