The Crowne Plaza Hotel located in Ventura Beach California is looking for a hospitality personality who will "Dare to Connect" with our guests. The property is renowned in the Ventura Beach community, boasting the only beach front property between Malibu, CA and Santa Barbara, CA. Just two blocks from historic downtown Ventura, making it easily accessible to explore all the area has to offer.

SUMMARY: This role provides an opportunity to contributing to creating a beautiful and serene hotel environment, enhancing the guest experience while maintaining high quality landscaping standards. The Landscaper/Gardener is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the hotel's gardens, grounds, and landscaped areas to create a visually appealing and welcoming environment for guests. The role involves planting, pruning, lawn care, pest control, and general upkeep of green spaces while ensuring safety and aesthetics.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains plants, flower beds, trees, shrubs, and lawns.
• implement seasonal planting schedules and garden designs.
• Mow, trim, edge, and water lawns
• Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges to maintain desired shapes and sizes.
• Removes weeds, leaves, and debris to keep hotel grounds clean and tidy.
• Identify and control pests, diseases and invasive plant species.
• Apply fertilizer and soil treatments to promote healthy plant growth.
• Knowledge of irrigation systems and ensure proper water coverage.
• Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment safely.
• Follow health and safety guidelines and hotel policies at all times.
• Maintain a visually appealing environment that enhances the guest experience.
• Assist with decorative plant displays for hotel events or seasonal celebrations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience in landscaping, gardening, or groundskeeping preferred, preferably at hotels/resorts.
• knowledge of plants, soil care, pest management, and irrigation systems.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining garden equipment and tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Requires minimum of 1 -2 years of experience in Landscaping/Gardening

• Continually required to stand, walk, and utilize hand and finger dexterity
• Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
• Frequently utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information.
