Description
The Terminal Transloading Coordinator schedules the loads, heats and other customer requests directly with Customer Care Department, VTC dispatchers and Outside carriers. Makes the necessary decisions in order to make sure all the loads are completed in a timely manner. Coordinates loaders activities and helps the Terminal supervisor meet all the load deadlines by scheduling and coordinating Heats and loads. Other responsibilities include backing up the Railcar Coordinator Position. This position reports directly to the Transloading Operations Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Facilitate the loading/unloading of liquid and dry bulk materials from railcar into tank trucks/shipping containers.
- Ensure completion of loads accurately and on schedule, through monitoring with RIMS.
- Ensure the proper equipment is assigned to each load to be sure proper volumes may be accurately and safely loaded.
- Become familiar with all Loader SOPs and work order instructions to make sure loads are completed correctly and safely without contamination, spill, or other incidents.
- See that Loaders operate safely and adhere to mandatory PPE requirements.
- Read and interpret paperwork accurately.
- Rating and finalizing work orders on a daily basis. (By noon the day following)
- Schedule Loader work, and communicate transload work schedules with other departments.
- Create daily dispatch for loaders; use VTC system to coordinate department daily activities.
- Communicate and disseminate directions from management/supervision to loading staff.
- Report Daily efficiency reports to Department Manager and others as required.
- Report on pertinent information regarding load volumes and equipment usage.
- Understand how to use the VTC work order/inventory system, RIMS and Heating and inspection boards.
- Problem-solve issues between customers and staff.
- Optimize the scheduling needs to ensure efficiency and time management daily.
- Backup for the Railcar Coordinator as needed
- Other duties as assigned.

- Strong Leadership skills and ability to make decisions based on operational needs.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work long hours from time to time or to work outside normal work hours, for example, to respond to emergency events
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to sit down and work in front of a computer for long periods of time.
Environmental Factors
- Able to work in an active office environment.
- Must be comfortable working around hazardous chemicals.
Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
