What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraeducator III position at Ventura Unified School District?
Under the immediate supervision of an assigned supervisor and general direction of a classroom teacher, specialist or therapist, assists in providing academic, behavior and social-emotional supports to individual or small groups of students to enhance learning. Monitors and reports student progress according to state standards, classroom objectives and the individualized education program (IEP), including health and/or behavioral plans. Provides cognitive instructional, therapeutic, and/or medical support to students with severe behavioral and/or physical disabilities including students with multiple handicaps, emotional disturbance, and severe orthopedic, visual, or hearing impairments. Experience: Requires one year experience working with special education students in an organized setting or one year experience providing health care services in a hospital, skilled nursing, extended care or convalescent care setting.
