Dietary Manager Needed for a Lovely Nursing Home
Job Summary: The Dietary Manager plans, organizes, directs, staffs, and manages food service employees and production to ensure a high standard of nutritional service to residents and employees through coordination with other departments. Responsible for the daily operations of the dietary department, according to facility policy and procedures and federal/state regulations. The Dietary Manager provides leadership and guidance to ensure that food quality, safety standards, and client expectations are satisfactorily met.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain accurate records for purchasing expenses, inventory, and food budget.
- Ensure adequate staffing and conduct yearly evaluations, interviews, and orientation for new personnel.
- Supervise and review diet changes and residents’ nutritional needs.
- Collaborate with the Dietitian to stay in compliance with all state and federal regulations.
- Assist in planning special activities involving the dietary department.
- Conduct and maintain records of in-service training.
- Supervise meal preparation, service, and cleaning of work areas to ensure all residents are served and accepting meals.
Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience, Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) or equivalent.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
