The Assistant Residential House Manager (ARHM) works closely with the Residential House Manager to ensure all individuals supported receive the best quality of care possible, as well as create a positive working environment for the program staff. The ARHM is responsible for advocating for and supporting adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be as active in their lives as they can.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Supervision of all Direct Care staff
- Development and implementation of all ISP’s (Individualized Support Plans)
- Oversee handling of individual accounts, and assist with house budgets
- Prepare weekly staff meeting agendas
- Coordinate and assist with planning of individual leisure/recreation time
- Ensure the program maintains the standard outline in the DDS Mission Statement
- Educate and assist individuals with goals listed in ISP, meal preparation, food shopping, finances, banking, transport, community outings.
- Physically assist individuals with daily care activities, including transfers.
- Ability to remain calm during behaviorally challenging situations.
- In the absence of the Residential House Manager, perform all functions of that position.
- Ability to advocate and establish rapport with the disable population, their families, co-workers, and service providers.
Requirements:
- Associates degree preferred and one-year experience in a residential program
- Must be 21 years old, have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Driver’s License, and be available by telephone for daily contact.
