Venture Equities, a private investment firm, is seeking an experienced and well-connected Business Development Lead to drive our front-end deal sourcing strategy.
We’re looking for someone who has deep, active relationships within the investment banking and M&A advisory community, and a proven track record of sourcing and helping close middle-market private company deals with $10M–$50M in EBITDA.
Your focus will be on building high-quality deal flow by leveraging your network and introducing qualified opportunities to our internal team, who will handle the financial review, diligence, and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leverage personal relationships with investment bankers and intermediaries to source M&A deals
• Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities for Venture Equities
• Evaluate opportunities at a high level for strategic fit, size, and relevance
• Serve as the front-line communicator with deal sources
• Coordinate with our founder to hand off strong opportunities for deeper analysis and diligence
• Represent our firm professionally in early-stage conversations with bankers, advisors, and business owners
Who We’re Looking For:
• You have 5 years in investment banking, private equity, or corporate development
• You have a strong personal network of bankers, brokers, and intermediaries
• You’ve personally sourced or helped close deals in the $10M–$50M EBITDA range
• You understand the private M&A landscape and can quickly filter quality deals
• You’re organized, relationship-driven, and eager to grow with a high-performing firm
Compensation:
• Monthly Base Retainer: $5,000 based on experience and network strength
• Success Fee: 0.5%–1.0% of enterprise value for sourced and closed deals
• Performance Bonuses: Additional incentives for multiple closings or proprietary (off-market) deal flow
Structure:
• This is a remote, contract-based position with potential for long-term growth
• Flexible hours, but consistent communication and tracking of deal flow are required
• You’ll be working directly with the firm’s founder to align on investment strategy and priorities
