About the Marketing Coordinator Intern:
Hi, Im Kathleen, the People Operations Manager here at Venture for Canada (VFC). Ill be leading the recruitment for this new opening. Ive been with VFC since 2019 and have seen it grow from 9 to 30 team members! Weve got such a dedicated and hardworking team of amazing people and were excited to see it expand! Reporting to the Senior Manager of Marketing & Partnerships, youll be diving straight into the heart of VFCs marketing strategy. This isnt just an internship; its your launchpad into the exciting world of marketing, entrepreneurship, and social impact. Youll get hands-on experience in every area of marketing, from content creation to co-marketing initiatives, all while contributing to a mission-driven organization.
This role is part of VFC's commitment to fostering work-integrated learning for Canadian students, in addition to gaining valuable hands-on experience, interns will also receive 1x1 mentoring from our Director of People Operations and Finance, a curated set of learning materials, and participate in professional development groups to further advance skill development. These skill development sessions will focus on relationship building, time management, objective-based working styles, delegation, project planning and execution, working in small teams, and more!
This is a contract position and employment is contingent on funding approval.
Please note, to be eligible for this position, you must:
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations; and,
- be 30 years of age or younger at the time of the internship.
Role Responsibilities
- TikTok Content Creation: Stay on top of TikTok trends and create engaging content that authentically connects with students and startups across Canada.
- Support Content Strategy: Collaborate closely with the team to craft engaging social media posts, blog articles, newsletters, and partnership materials, ensuring they stay true to VFCs voice and connect meaningfully with our audience across channels.
- Design Marketing Assets: Use tools like Canva and Notion to design high-quality, user-centric materials like media kits, infographics, and more.
- Market Research: Research emerging trends and analyze competitors, using insights to improve and innovate VFCs marketing strategies.
- Partnership Coordination: Assist in building strategic partnerships, handling administrative tasks and helping manage these exciting relationships.
- Other Tasks: Any other reasonable tasks as assigned by VFC.
Job Requirements:
- A curious, creative, and collaborative mindset.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to help tell VFCs story.
- Experience creating and editing engaging TikTok videos either with a personal or business account that shows youre up-to-date with platform trends.
- Proficiency with video editing tools like CapCut and a basic understanding of design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Familiarity with Notion, and WordPress (bonus points!).
- An ability to connect with audiences through authentic and empathetic communication.
- Impact-driven and motivated by the desire to make a positive change.
- A proactive attitudeyou can manage your time, meet goals, and solve problems creatively.
- Enjoy busy and fast-paced work
- Keen interest in entrepreneurship, social impact, startups, and the Canadian business landscape
- Proficiency with Google Workspace/Gmail, HubSpot Slack, Zoom, and the Windows operating system are assets.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Venture for Canada is committed to providing equal pay for equal work with salaries in line with industry standards. The salary for this position is 770/week.
Location: Virtual, home office must be within Canada.
