Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Human Resources to lead our HR department. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of human capital management and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR practices and processes. This role requires a proactive leader who succession planning, and process. Has the leadership skills to support growth and employee engagement between locations.
· Build strong relationships within all levels of the organization to deliver business objectives and resolve issues.
· Provides support for projects and programs that contribute to the employee relations strategy and company culture.
· Proactively manage employee relations issues, including using fair and consistent application of policies and disciplinary actions to make recommendations for corrective action to come to a resolution.
· Train managers to coach and discipline employees, and counsel employees and supervisors as necessary.
· Provide guidance for employees and managers on company policies and processes.
· Implement measures to increase employee morale, motivation, and satisfaction, while reducing turnover.
· Work with managers to determine training needs and create training and development programs that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
· Researches, recommends and implements new initiatives, programs, policies and procedures in alignment with overall company goals and objectives.
· Work together with Plant Managers and Safety Team to ensure company follows MIOSHA regulations.
· Co-lead Safety Team, in conjunction with Safety Manager, across different shifts and facilities to positively impact safety culture.
· Champion the onboarding process, ensuring the process is up to date and of high quality, providing clarity and connection for all employees and their role in relation to the overall vision of the company.
· Leads the research, design and delivery/training of critical HR processes; may include employment compliance with federal and state regulations, immigration, talent review, succession planning, headcount budgeting, performance management and goal setting.
· Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to employment law, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
· Stay current with changing employment laws and regulations as they relate to our manufacturing environment.
· Lead HR team in administration of all HR functions including payroll, benefits, recruiting, retention, employee relations, workers compensation, training and development.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills (Education, experience, knowledge, skills & abilities)
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or relevant discipline is desired. Equivalent experience considered.
· 5-10 years of practical Human Resources Management experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Solid understanding and knowledge of Human Resource practices and policies.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate and ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
· Knowledge of state and federal employment regulations, and record keeping requirements; including best practices in the field.
· High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with other HR software strongly desired.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
