The Hilo Driver will safely operate a hilo to transfer steel coils or bundles of steel parts from one location to another.
The hours for this position are 6:00 am to 2:30 pm Monday through Friday.
Venture Steel requires passing results of a criminal background check, physical, and 5 panel drug test as a condition of employment.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform preventive maintenance checks daily
- Safely load and unload coils and pallets
- Place material safely where it belongs
- Locate and provide shipping with the material listed on the work orders.
- Maintain a clean work area
- Report any and all quality concerns promptly
- Perform all tasks in a safe manner, using good judgement
- Additional tasks assigned by supervisor
Required Experience and Skills/Abilities
- Two years of hilo experience in a steel processing environment
- Must be able to lift 20 pounds
- Must be able to walk long distances
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time
- Excellent depth perception and reaction time
- Good verbal and written communication skills to understand instructions, applicable safety regulations, and to maintain records
