VentureBeat is on the hunt for a passionate and consultative Sales Director to help sell large, custom campaigns and integrated marketing solutions to leading business and technology brands. You will be focused on driving success for VentureBeat’s largest strategic partners across comprehensive digital advertising campaigns, as well as our custom events business two pillars that are already at the epicenter of the ecosystem.

VB aims to produce the most helpful content and events for technical decision-makers navigating enterprise transformation. A revolution is unfolding, where all companies are data driven presenting them with both opportunity and risk. Our goal is to be the number one site covering data technologies and data strategies, including around areas like AI, security, automation and more. We also have a leading games industry content channel, called GamesBeat.

The role is at the heart of our organization : Advertising and sponsorship sales for VentureBeat’s website, events, and custom content marketing solutions ensure our success and continued growth. There’s a major growth opportunity here with huge market potential.

The position can be in San Francisco or remote.

Qualifications :

  • 4 years of consultative sales experience in a revenue-closing role with proven attainment — strong preference given to those familiar with the digital media landscape. Experience with the enterprise technology industry is strongly preferred
  • Experience attending and selling event sponsorships is a plus
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM
  • Strong interpersonal, listening and presentation skills
  • Positive mental attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
  • College degree

Responsibilities :

  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to close; sell VB’s full suite of digital advertising products and events sponsorships
  • Fully understand and convey VB’s value proposition to relevant target clients
  • Sell to net new customers as well as up-sell and manage renewals with existing customers
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Provide continual cross-departmental input in order to refine positioning and adapt to new market opportunities
  • Properly document and track all prospect and customer information in Salesforce.com
  • Provide weekly sales forecasts to leadership team
  • Meet assigned sales quotas
