Job Description
Title: Engine OBD Controls Development
Location: Auburn Hills, MI
Employee Status: Full Time Permanent Position

Roles and Responsibilities:
Overview:
Subject matter experts on Misfire calibration tool including the supporting “C” code and Matlab GUI
Subject matter experts on gasoline OBD system
Good general knowledge of internal combustion engines
Experience with the standard controls development tools (modeling/simulation/development/testing/validation)
Direct access to and rights to utilize the knowledge base of the development partner’s organization
Primary Skills:
• Modify NAFTA’s Misfire calibration tool to work with the new gasoline engine
• Support engineers to integrate OBD algorithms or modify algorithms for the new gasoline engine
• Support development vehicles equipped with the new engine
• Support issue resolution with OBD controls
• Participate in DFMEA meetings for new OBD controls
• Development activities may be performed utilizing facilities/tools
• Algorithm development must support dynamometer, vehicle, and full production implementation
• Engine Controls Development Partner will attend regularly scheduled meetings with engineers targeted at issue resolution and knowledge transfer
• All control and plant models developed must be in executable specification Matlab/Simulink
• The Misfire calibration tool and all intellectual property developed during the course of this project
• Engine Controls Development Partner will attend regularly scheduled meetings with engineers targeted at issue resolution
• Prepare a software change request, if necessary to modify or implement new OBD controls
• Prepare a DVPR to validate the software change for OBD algorithm changes
• Executing a DVPR using facilities/tools provided by and/or Development Partner to validate OBD algorithm changes
