Job Description :
The ideal candidate will have:
• In depth plastic injection molding experience
• Ability to run a servo based plastic molding machine
• Understanding of DOE and OQ for plastic molding
• Understanding of PPAP requirements for plastic parts
Essential Functions:
• Supervise / Assist in training and mentoring of Plastics Engineering Team
• Expert in plastics manufacturing procedures, tooling, and processes
• Adhere to safety policy procedures
• Direct plastics engineering staff with regards to best practices
• Provide Technical advice related to plastic component material selection and part design to achieve required cost , performance, and quality requirements
• Estimate component and tooling costs for capital and product cost planning
• Provide component design support interacting directly with product designers and suppliers
• Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) analysis on proposed component designs
• Participate in R&D product development meetings
• Participate in supplier selection and development activities
• Manage component tooling build and qualification with suppliers
Minimum Requirements:
Experience Preferred:
• 6 years of relevant experience
Skills/Competencies:
• Expert mathematical and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to perform engineering analyses
• Verbal and written skills
Skills/Qualifications:
• Expert in IQ/OQ/PQ
• Expertise with all manufacturing processes in area of specialty
• Extensive experience in tooling design, qualification and troubleshooting
• Development and application of new mfg. Processes
• Expert in the use of Mold Flow analysis software
Other Skills:
• General computer skills (MS OFFICE)
Qualifications
Should have Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent
