Job Description
Title: Simulation Engineer

Role Responsibilities
- Participates as a team member on various manufacturing engineering projects i.e. Assembly process design/ part routings, PFMEA & control plan documentation.
- Conducts time studies using PMTS (Predetermined Motion Time System) tools and line balancing for mix model high volume production line
- Implements lean manufacturing, Just in Time & SMED concepts on assembly processes
- Performs material flow analysis, layout design and planning for assembly, fabrication and machining layouts.
- Develops equipment specifications (Custom machinery for assembly, lifting manipulators, ergo arms) and supporting on tooling and fixture needs
- Provides regular status updates and participates in team planning sessions
- Develops presentations and reports (data, technology description, etc) to be presented to internal and/or external customers.
- Efficiently delegate work out to other team members from offsite and offshore team from different global locations.
Requirements:
- Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering Preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing Processes (Assembly/Machining/Fabrication), assembly process planning and lean manufacturing.
- Good analytical and problem solving skills in manufacturing systems
- Good knowledge of Time Study/ Line Balancing, plant layout types and layout design.
- Experience in one or more related engineering areas: industrial, production, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution.
- Knowledge of Engineering Change Order/Notices Management in manufacturing systems
- Experience in designing and optimizing layout for assembly, machining and fabrication process.
- Knowledge of New Product Development, design for manufacturability validations.
- Experience with Vis-Mockup, Vis-Jack and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Factory CAD & Cre-O
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to manage ambiguous projects
- Complies with the policies, procedures, and expectations outlined by L&T and our customers
- Project management skills to assess task effort, manage priorities, and report status
Preferences:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Understanding of product life cycle processes such as APQP
- Applies an adequate level of computer literacy in the areas of engineering systems software (Siemens Tecnomatix/ Delmia, AutoCAD), graphics, presentations, and multimedia.
- Familiarity with automotive industry.
