Ventus Solutions is seeking a skilled Senior Scientist – Aeronautical Engineering to support an innovative program. The candidate will provide extensive support to the Program Manager. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate experience in developing conclusions on R&D and engineering issues, planning and coordinating work, and troubleshooting complex technical question and problems concerning aerial flight. The person in this role will focus on new R&D project initiation also oversight and management of existing program portfolio. Work Location: On-Site Arlington VA
Travel: 20% may be required
Required Experience:
- MS/MA or PhD in aeronautical engineering, systems engineering with an aircraft focus, or closely related technical field; 15 years of relevant experience since BS/BA
- Technical expertise in aerial system R&D
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate program and technical topics to a diverse audience creating high quality documents
- TS/SCI Secret Clearance
Desired Experience:
- Significant experience as a Program Manager, SETA contractor or project scientist or engineer
- Authority in one or more of the following aviation related R&D fields: non-traditional systems engineering and designs, affordable and scalable manufacturing, rapid acquisition, surging and sustaining novel platforms, and delivery of long-range effects via innovative technologies.
- Published articles in a field of scientific, engineering, or technical expertise
- Understanding of DoD airworthiness and related certification processes
- Experience managing R&D programs from inception to closeout.
