As we expand our micromobility programs, Veo regularly responds to City and University Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and permit applications. As a Proposal Writer, you will work within the Policy and Partnerships team and manage all aspects of proposal writing, including leading the development of compelling content, crafting submission documents and synthesizing information from Veo’s Senior Leadership, Product, Public Policy, and Operations teams to inform our applications. This role is ideal for an experienced writer, editor, or content strategist with a talent for storytelling and the ability to simplify complex ideas into accessible narratives that reflect our target partners’ procurement processes, as well as their priorities for safe, orderly, and accessible shared mobility systems.

Responsibilities for the Role:
- RFP and Market Entry Support (80%)
- Work alongside the other Market Entry staff to lead the development and submittal of proposals for RFP and Permit applications that are compliant, professionally produced, and delivered on time.
- Perform detailed analysis of RFQ/RFP/Permit documents and supplementary content to enrich our offerings and ensure our content is tailored to each local context.
- Write high-quality and responsive content for proposals
- Coordinate and review/edit proposal input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from Veo’s Policy and Partnerships, Product, Finance, Operations, and Engineering departments.
- Track proposal success rates, analyze feedback, and implement continuous improvements to enhance proposal effectiveness.
- Work closely with the Design team to coordinate the production of high-quality visuals and graphics that improve communication.
- Communications and Marketing Support (20%)
- Partner with the Communications and Social Media teams to develop engaging campaigns and materials that showcase Veo’s innovative solutions.
- Review and provide opinionated edits outgoing communications materials on tight deadlines
- Stay up to date on industry best practices and technology to ensure Veo’s content is always state-of-the-art and competitive.
- 5 years of experience in proposal development, permit or grant writing, content creation, editing, or related fields such as copywriting, journalism, or report/technical writing. Academic and/or work experience in city planning, public transportation, or public policy is a plus.
- Exceptional writing, editing, verbal communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for diverse audiences, including public agencies, universities, and business stakeholders, and translate complex technical information into persuasive and accessible content.
- A sharp eye for detail and a commitment to producing error-free, high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of public sector procurement, regulations, or urban planning is an advantage but not required.
- Proficiency in content strategy development, aligning messaging with brand goals and audience needs.
- Graphic design experience and/or familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite/InDesign a plus
- Bachelor's Degree expected, Master’s degree in a related subject (Journalism, English, Communications, Urban Studies) is preferred and may substitute for 2 years of work experience.

- Competitive Compensation Package that consists of a base salary range of $79,000 - $95,000 Annual Performance Bonus Equity (Stock Options) Full Range of Benefits.
- Veo is a total compensation company, and pay is determined by geographic cost of labor and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training - so not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range.
- Our total compensation package for this role, including bonus potential, ranges from $80,000 - $105,000
