Job Description

Pay Rate: $20.00 to a maximum of $25.00 Per Hour.

Position Purpose: 

The IT Training Program Enhancement Intern will play a key role in refining and expanding DB&T’s Training Program. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in organizational change and program management. The intern will contribute to developing learning paths, creating practical training resources, and enhancing the organization’s use of various applications to deliver high-impact training and development pathways for key technical roles.

Student Exploration and Experience Development (SEED) is a 12-week internship opportunity at Veolia for students to gain hands-on experience in sustainability and ecological transformation. They will work on real-world projects, receive mentorship from industry professionals, and participate in workshops and networking events. The program aims to nurture talent, promote innovation, and foster meaningful connections between students and industry professionals. Overall, the SEED program provides students with the skills, knowledge, and connections needed to make a positive impact in the industry.

Program Dates: June 2, 2025 to August 22, 2025.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Learning and Development Program Design

  • Partner with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) to define key competencies for critical roles, including:
    • Business Analysts I and II
    • Data professionals (e.g., Data Owners, Data Stewards)
    • Cybersecurity specialists.
  • Research current and emerging trends in IT training, focusing on areas such as: Cybersecurity skills enhancement, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning, and Advanced cloud computing technologies.
  • Compile and present findings, offering actionable recommendations for incorporating new topics into the training curriculum.
  • Align existing training resources with identified competencies, identifying gaps and proposing new resources to meet evolving needs.

2. Analytics and Performance Measurement.

  • Create a system and process for tracking employee professional development activities.
  • Support the development of a framework to monitor key training metrics, including: Completion rates, Participant feedback scores, Knowledge retention outcomes.

3. Content Management and Documentation

  • Design dashboards and reports using tools such as Google Sheets, Power BI, or Smartsheet to visualize key data.
  • Create and maintain user support materials and navigation guides for our Learning Management System and other relevant platforms.
  • Produce clear and engaging documentation with tools like Google Workspace, Canva, or Adobe Suite.
  • Facilitate the transfer of training content to a centralized knowledge base and learning repository.

Deliverables

By the end of the internship, the intern will deliver:

  • Comprehensive Learning Paths - Documents outlining training courses and resources for key DB&T technical roles.
  • Job Aids and Guides - Quick-reference guides for identified DB&T processes.
  • Industry Trends Report - A detailed research report highlighting new training topics, trends, and actionable recommendations for program updates.
  • Training Metrics Framework - A clear and actionable plan for tracking training effectiveness, with mockups or dashboards where applicable.
  • A framework for a comprehensive training repository and knowledge base for DB&T.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

Required:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program, preferably in Instructional Design, IT Management, Organizational Change Management, Organizational Development, Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with design tools like Canva or Adobe Suite.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Confluence and Learning Management Systems.
  • Basic understanding of IT systems and processes.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau

  • Enhance Technical and Analytical Competencies: From exploring emerging technologies in IT training to working with data visualization tools, you’ll build technical skills that are highly valued in today’s workforce. You’ll also gain experience in leveraging industry-standard tools and platforms to optimize user experiences.
  • Build Creative Problem-Solving Abilities: This internship will challenge you to think creatively as you design engaging learning paths, create visually appealing resources, and develop innovative ways to track and measure program effectiveness.

Throughout this internship, you will be supported in developing a well-rounded skill set that combines technical expertise, creativity, and strategic insight. By the end of your experience, you will have built a strong foundation in organizational development, program management, and IT training—equipping you to excel in your future career.
