We are seeking a skilled Wastewater System Technician to join our Veolia Environnement SA team. As a key member of our wastewater management services team, you will perform field maintenance, inspection, installation, or repairs in one or more areas.

This exciting opportunity involves maintaining the city's wastewater systems and their respective accessories and facilities. You will need to have strong mechanical aptitude and equipment operation experience, as well as the ability to work in confined spaces and tolerate extreme weather conditions.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of the city's wastewater systems and their respective accessories and facilities.
- Sewer manhole construction maintenance and repair, mixing and pouring cement mortar, cleaning and repairing manholes, sewer mains, service lines.
- Roadway work flushing out sewer mains and cleanouts in the maintenance of city and residential sewer service lines.
- Operation of heavy equipment such as backhoes, tractors, bush hogs, zero-turn mowers, jetter trucks, etc.
- Use of heavy hand tools such as jack hammers, road saws, stirring concrete, etc.
- Inspection and repair of wastewater lines and components.
- Tapping into sewer mains with new service lines.
- Holding and removal of blockages from sanitary sewer lines.
- Assistance with video inspections of sanitary sewer main lines.
- Preparation and maintenance of work zones. May be required to direct traffic.
- Mowing and weeding the grass/weeds and picking up debris around sewer facilities.
- Assistance with the operation and maintenance of jetter trucks, high-pressure water equipment, and various specialty tools in confined spaces.
- Completion of all necessary paperwork, including task sheets and reports.
- Efficient and timely completion of dispatched tasks.
- Communication of abnormalities or faulty situations regarding the process, product, machine, equipment, workplace, or other to competent persons.
- Adherence to safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment as required.
- Maintenance of safe working conditions in accordance with established company policies.
- Compliance with all applicable environmental regulations.
- Performance of scheduled preventive maintenance.
Environment and Safety:
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to tolerate heat, cold, rain, snow, wind.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma/GED is required.
Essential Skills:
- Mechanical aptitude and equipment operation experience.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions (rain, sleet, snow, extreme heat, and cold).
- Willingness to be on standby and perform call-back duties.
- Able to work varied hours.
- Ability to wear a respirator.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
Physical Abilities:
- Ability to lift up to 90 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders in and out of manholes.
