At Veolia Environnement SA, we are seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This exciting opportunity is part of our wastewater management services and involves performing field maintenance, inspection, installation, or repairs in various areas.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the city's wastewater systems, including their respective accessories and facilities. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude and equipment operation experience, as well as the ability to work in confined spaces and tolerate extreme weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Involving maintenance of the city's wastewater systems and their respective accessories and facilities.
- Sewer manhole construction maintenance and repair, mixing and pouring cement mortar, cleaning and repairing manholes, sewer mains, service lines.
- Roadway work flushing out sewer mains and cleanouts in the maintenance of city and residential sewer service lines.
- Operate heavy equipment such as backhoes, tractors, bush hogs, zero-turn mowers, jetter trucks, etc.
- Use of heavy hand tools such as jack hammers, road saws, stirring concrete, etc.
- Inspect wastewater lines and components, repair and replace damaged components.
- Tap into sewer mains with new service lines.
- Hydro-clean, saw, and remove blockages from sanitary sewer lines.
- Assist in video inspections of sanitary sewer main lines.
- Prepare and maintain work zones. May be required to direct traffic.
- Mow and weed the grass/weeds and pick up debris around sewer facilities.
- Assist with the operation and maintenance of jetter trucks, high-pressure water equipment, and various specialty tools in confined spaces.
- Completes all paperwork, including task sheets and reports, as may be required.
- Complete dispatched tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
- Communicate abnormalities or faulty situations regarding the process, product, machine, equipment, workplace, or other to competent persons.
- Wear safety personal protective equipment as required for this position, work safely, and observe all safety procedures.
- Maintain safe working conditions in accordance with established company policies.
- Identify, report, and/or correct unsafe work environments.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations.
- Install, repair, replace, and troubleshoot plant equipment, including piping systems, valves, traps, pumps.
- Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled.
Work Environment:
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to tolerate heat, cold, rain, snow, wind.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma/GED is required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Mechanical aptitude and equipment operation experience.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions (rain, sleet, snow, extreme heat, and cold).
- Must be willing to be on standby and perform call-back duties.
- Able to work various hours.
- Must be able to wear a respirator.
- Must be able to work overtime as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 90 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders in and out of manholes.
