Position Purpose :
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Environmental Science / Engineering Intern to join our team under Veolia's SEED program. This role is ideal for senior-level or recently graduated undergraduate or graduate students pursuing degrees in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related fields with a strong focus on sustainability and water resource management.
The successful candidate will work on projects from initiation to completion, gaining valuable experience in environmental and water systems management and sustainability practices. This internship offers visibility across various functional groups, including environmental science, engineering, operations, and maintenance teams. Additionally, this internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fields of environmental science, water resource management, and sustainability while contributing to meaningful projects that address pressing environmental challenges. The Student Exploration and Experience Development (SEED) program is a 12-week internship opportunity at Veolia for students to gain hands-on experience in sustainability and ecological transformation. They will work on real-world projects, receive mentorship from industry professionals, and participate in workshops and networking events. The program aims to nurture talent, promote innovation, and foster meaningful connections between students and industry professionals. Overall, the SEED program provides students with the skills, knowledge, and connections needed to make a positive impact in the industry. Program Dates : June 2, 2025 to August 22, 2025.
Primary Duties / Responsibilities :
- Assist in developing and implementing sustainable water management solutions.
- Assist in the evaluation and optimization of water treatment processes.
- Contribute to water quality monitoring and improvement initiatives.
- Assist with laboratory analysis and environmental field sampling.
- Contribute to environmental impact assessments and sustainability reports.
- Support climate change research and adaptation projects.
- Assist with GHG emissions accounting and reduction strategies.
- Participate in data collection, analysis, and reporting related to environmental monitoring and compliance.
- Collaborate on process improvement projects focused on reducing carbon footprint and enhancing energy efficiency at a surface water treatment plant.
- Work with operations teams assisting in the development of financial reports in support of monthly closing activities aligned to international, regional, legal entity and business line reporting.
