Youth Program Manager

Position Description

The Youth Program Manager is a key member of the center leadership and administrative team. The Youth Program Manager oversees all Vera Court youth programs ensuring that they are reaching program goals, outcomes and objectives. The program manager will provide the following functions:

PROGRAM DIRECTION:

  • Responsible for guiding all youth programming, reaching program goals, and objectives.
  • Develop a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas of improvement.
  • Attend at least one evening program each week to offer support and guidance to evening programming.
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with program managers and a monthly staff meeting for all center program staff.
  • Work with the Center Director to ensure all center programs are operating within their approved program budgets.
  • Responsible for the annual inspections and program reviews from the City of Madison, United Way, FYI and Second Harvest.
  • Cultivate existing relationships with community groups, social service agencies, schools and local nonprofits with the goal of ensuring sufficient resources and access to services.
  • Collaborate with the fund development team to ensure grants align with program goals and outcomes.

SUPERVISION:

  • Supervise program coordinators by providing them direction, input and feedback through weekly one-on-one meetings.
  • Responsible for orientation of new youth program coordinators.

STRATEGIC PLANNING

  • Participate in discussions with the directors and administrative staff regarding administrative structure, program staff responsibilities, and program development for the agency.
  • Initiate goals for programs according to the strategic objectives of the organization.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

  • Work with program coordinators to complete quarterly reports for the City of Madison, ensuring that all program goals and objectives are met.
  • Work with Program Coordinators, Center Director and administrative staff to complete yearly reports for United Way and ensure that program goals and objectives are met.
  • Attend weekly full-time staff meetings.
  • Work in partnership with full-time staff to run the day-to-day operations of the center.
  • MOST MIS administration and oversight
  • Work with program managers to develop program staff schedules that fit within budgets

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend MOST coalition meetings.
  • Serve as the point person for Most Information System (MIS).

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES

  • 1-2 year supervisory experience
  • Budget management
  • K-12 academic/recreation/youth setting experience

WORK HOURS

Core Hours: Monday-Tuesday-Thursday-Friday 10 am - 6 pm and Wednesdays 12 pm - 8 pm. Additional hours: Some evenings and weekends may be required based on project needs or events.

SALARY & BENEFIT

This is a full time position with benefits with a starting salary in the range of $54,000 - $59,000 and a generous benefits package including: 8 paid holidays, 2 weeks paid vacation6(prorated to start date and increases with longevity), sick leave (8 hours/month), health insurance (85% employer paid), 403(b) retirement plan with up to 5% employer match, and more"

  • Second Round – Program Shadowing & Follow-Up Questions: In the second round, we will invite you to participate in a program shadowing session. This will involve observing a current team member’s work and/or participating in a hands-on task that reflects the type of work you would be doing in the role. After the shadowing session, you’ll be asked follow-up questions to assess your understanding, problem-solving abilities, and approach to the work at hand.
