Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data to estimate machine time, raw materials, and subcontractor services required for manufacturing machined parts.
Blueprint Analysis: Review blueprints and technical documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for machine throughput, material costs, and subcontracted services.
Cost Effectiveness: Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of products, projects, and services, and track actual costs relative to initial estimates as manufacturing orders are completed.
Collaboration: Work closely with customers, vendors, and internal teams to discuss and refine estimates, address issues, and ensure accurate cost projections.
Adjustments: Partner with engineers and subcontractors to make necessary adjustments to cost estimates as projects evolve.
Management Support: Prepare estimates used by management for planning, lead-time calculations, and production scheduling.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering highly desired.
Experience: 7-10 years of machining experience in turning and milling, with a strong background in estimating within a manufacturing environment.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel; prior experience with an ERP system's estimating module is a plus.
Teamwork: ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Time Management: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and perform effectively under pressure.
Must Have:
7-10 years of machining experience in turning and milling, with a strong background in estimating within a manufacturing environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel; prior experience with an ERP system's estimating module is a plus.
