Any new hire will be required to be within commuting distance of either the Mt. Laurel, NJ or Charlotte, NC offices.
Client is seeking an enthusiastic Structural Supervising Engineer with experience supporting Power Generation and Heaving Industrial Projects in either our Mt. Laurel, NJ or Charlotte, NC offices.
Responsibilities include managing structural project activities from conception to construction including supporting structural site work. The successful applicant can look forward to projects including simple and combined cycle powerplants, nuclear projects, and plant retrofits throughout the United States that require all facets of structural engineering and design.
Status - US Citizen and Permanent Residents (we will not be able to provide sponsorship now or in the future)
Requirements : Eight (8) years of experience with structural engineering and design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Must have PE license.
Due to the nature of work that Client performs, candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States. No sponsorship is available.
No per diem or relocation is available.
This is not a Nuclear project, so Nuclear experience is not required.
We are not interested in candidates who want to work remotely but would make a case-by-case determination based on the applicant.
Direct hires are preferred,but will consider contract staff.
Minimum Requirements
Education : Bachelor of Science degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university.
Experience
Minimum 8 (10) years of relevant experience in structural engineering and design.
Minimum 3 (5) years in an engineering leadership position
Experience with industry standard engineering software such as STAAD Pro, MathCad, etc..
The successful candidate must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be capable of collaborating with the multi-discipline engineers and designers
Professional Engineering (PE) license in US
Preferred Requirements
M.S. in Civil (Structural) Engineering
Experience in seismic analysis and design of structures, systems, and components for nuclear power plants.
Experience with ANSYS and AutoDesk Advance Steel is a plus.
Responsibilities
Functioning as the structural discipline lead on a project.
As the structural engineer of record for assigned projects, using your professional engineering license to sign and seal structural drawings developed under your supervision.
Power plant and heavy industrial facility design.
Ability to coordinate interdisciplinary team of engineers and designers to complete project tasks on schedule and on budget.
Reviewing relevant codes, design documents, specifications, and construction documents to support project development.
Performing structural calculations, developing engineering reports, studies, specifications, and design drawings.
Ability to develop material and workhour estimates as well as engineering and design schedules
