One of our major clients in the financial space is in process of decommissioning one of their largest data centers. Three teams have been earmarked for this engagement working on the Infrastructure Readiness, Application Readiness, and Client Readiness.
Resources will work on mutually agreed on tasks to decommission Data Center and transition the appropriate services to other client infrastructure, to be identified during the transition."
As a Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in DB2 on AIX, Linux, and Windows platforms, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the organization's databases. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the database systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability. Your role will also involve optimizing database performance, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with other IT teams to support various applications and projects.
Job Responsibilities :
- Install, configure, and upgrade DB2 database systems on AIX, Linux, and Windows platforms.
- Monitor and manage database performance, capacity, and health to ensure optimal functionality and availability.
- Perform regular backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning to safeguard critical data.
- Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls and data encryption, to protect sensitive information.
- Monitor database access and audit logs to detect and address potential security breaches.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize SQL queries, and tuning database configurations to enhance system performance.
- nalyze database performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Diagnose and resolve database-related problems, ensuring minimal downtime and disruptions.
- Collaborate with application developers and other IT teams to investigate and resolve database-related issues.
- Collaborate with application developers to design and implement efficient database structures and schemas.
- Participate in database schema changes and version upgrades, ensuring compatibility and data migration.
- Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Prepare regular reports on database performance, growth, and capacity planning.
- Design and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability in case of failures.
