Role Overview:
The Associate Scientist II will conduct R&D activities under the direction of project or technical leads performing tasks with minimum supervision.
Core Responsibilities:
- Exhibits safety awareness conducting lab and other operations in a safe manner holding themselves accountable for safe behaviour in the work environment.
- Maintain work area in a clean, tidy and safe condition
- Ensure personal compliance with all safety related procedures or risk assessments
- Working within the Veranova Quality System, carrying out scientific work as in line with this standard.
- Keeps accurate, legible and complete records of all experiments, observations and equipment.
- Follows all SOPs
- Produces development and technical reports, SOP’s and other documents to the required standards.
- Develop manufacturing processes to targets APIs – identifying and optimising key process parameters.
- Provide technical and analytical support during process commissioning and technology transfer of new (contract manufacture) or optimised processes to Production under supervision.
- Participates in the execution of procedures within the required timeline under supervision.
- Promptly seeks guidance if required to ensure this.
- Demonstrates good communication across a range of media.
- Works with LM, Project and Technical leads to develop skills and knowledge of process chemistry and analytical techniques
- Seeks guidance to learn the skills required to balance a variety of tasks.
- Consistently demonstrates the competencies associated with this role.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive impactful projects.
- Foster a culture of openness and creatively, encouraging diverse perspectives
- Additional assignments/ duties to support team objective and contribute to the Veranova mission may evolve based on business needs.
Qualifications:
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a chemistry related discipline/Analytical Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Science
- Proficiency with relevant analytical techniques
- Previous industry experience in relevant areas
- Ability to write clear and concise technical reports
- Skilled in written and spoken communication and proven ability to effectively interact with management
- Has good judgment, is solution focused, and works well independently and in a team environment
Desirable
- Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a chemistry related discipline/Analytical Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Science
