Job Description
As a member of the site leadership team, the Director of Supply Chain oversees and manages supplier management, sales and operations planning, all functions of materials control and procurement activities for the New England sites. Key interface with internal and external customers to meet strategic product supply requirements. Identifies and manages risk within materials control and procurement for raw materials supply, suggests contingencies to mitigate risk. Director will design, build, shape and implement supply chain strategy building high performance team and overseeing all aspects of supply management.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Direct all activities of materials control, procurement and sales operation planning from purchasing, planning, warehousing, control of materials, vendor and supplier management, replenishment of raw material and consumables to delivery of finished product to finished goods inventory and ultimately to the customer.
- Implementation of a new ERP system across the entire Supply Chain function in the New England sites.
- Leads the Sales and Operations planning (S&OP) process for the New England sites.
- Leads the negotiation process with suppliers to deliver raw materials, consumables, and intermediates to meet sites planning and customers’ expectations for on time delivery, quality, and within operational budget.
- Develop, manage, and maintain the overall supply chain budget to meet or exceed financial targets for revenue and expenses.
- Increase quality awareness to achieve “Right the First Time” approach within all aspects of Supply Chains functions.
- Always maintain Supply Chain safety initiatives in compliance with corporate and site goals.
- Optimize Cost of goods sold (COGs) by controlling expenses, labor, gain competitive pricing and implement lean principles.
- Manages and empowers staff by building culture that attracts, sustains, and motivates staff by company values and goals.
- Identifies capital expenditures that lead to improved supply chain performance, throughput and return on investment.
- Works closely with Project Management, development, technology transfer group, operations and Quality to successfully manage sales and operations planning for the New England sites.
- Maintains cGMP, ISO, DEA and OSHA requirements and compliance within functional areas of Supply Chain as inspection ready always.
- Participates in regulatory, state, and government inspections as required.
- Maintain accurate raw material and consumables inventory through cycle counts, sales ad planning and vender management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 7-10 years’ experience with BS degree required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing plants and operations required
- Experience with financial and budget tasks required
- Experience with computerized ERP Systems required
- Knowledgeable of DOT and Hazardous waste and material shipping required
- Must be able to multitask and handle management of multiple projects and tasks at the same time
- Strong technical, written, verbal and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively across organization
- APICs CMIP certification preferred
- Project Management experience preferred
