Role Overview:
This position is responsible for the sourcing of high-quality niche materials, supplies, and services. This person is also responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining supplier related processes such as supplier development, integration, monitoring, auditing and sustainability.
Core Responsibilities:
- Initiate, identify and support the introduction of new material suppliers and/or products.
- Monitor supplier sources to ensure the purchase of highest quality and lowest cost materials, goods and/or services to ensure sustainable supply
- Interact with Project Management, Sales, Quality and Regulatory Affairs in sourcing goods and services to prevent supply chain issues
- Negotiate and coordinate with vendors, suppliers and/or internal Company personnel the purchase and distribution of quality goods and/or service
- Maintain and analyze Key Supplier Performance Indicators to identify trends and drive improvement actions with the intent to reduce internal and external failure costs
- Review and/or write vendor/supplier agreements to insure appropriate legal terms and conditions on behalf of all sites. Seek legal review as necessary.
- Ensure that all departmental procedures, policies and/or systems are in compliance with government regulations.
Qualifications:
Required
- B.S. degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related technical degree
- 3-5 years’ experience working in a pharmaceutical or specialty chemical manufacturing environment a process engineer, chemist, or quality professional
- Knowledge of Customs and FDA importation regulations as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), INCO and domestic shipping terms, and chemical nomenclature such as USP, ACS, CAS#COA, COC
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred
- Knowledge of cGMP principles
- Knowledge of Sustainability and RC14001
