Role Overview:
This position is responsible for the sourcing of high-quality niche materials, supplies, and services. This person is also responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining supplier related processes such as supplier development, integration, monitoring, auditing and sustainability.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and supplier performance.
- Analyze market trends, industry best practices, and supplier capabilities to drive innovation and cost savings.
- Interact with Project Management, Sales, Quality and Regulatory Affairs in sourcing goods and services to prevent supply chain issues
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations, risk assessments, and contract negotiations.
- Address and resolve supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and vendor disputes effectively.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, finance, and logistics) to streamline procurement workflows.
- Negotiate and coordinate with vendors, suppliers and/or internal Company personnel the purchase and distribution of quality goods and/or service
- Develop risk mitigation strategies to address potential supply chain disruptions.
- Review vendor/supplier agreements to insure appropriate legal terms and conditions on behalf of all sites, collaborating with legal counsel as necessary.
- Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards
Qualifications:
Required
- B.S. degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related technical degree
- 3-5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in pharmaceutical industry
- Knowledge of Customs and FDA importation regulations as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Tariffs, INCO and domestic shipping terms, and chemical nomenclature such as USP, ACS, CAS#COA, COC
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management skills.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to influence stakeholders and drive initiatives.
Preferred
- Knowledge of cGMP principles
- Knowledge of Sustainability and RC14001
